Energy-efficient air purification systems for industrial halls

Energy-efficient air purification systems for industrial halls

Application description

Decentralised extraction – local air cleaning system

Our company supplies decentralised extraction systems in response to the growing pressure to reduce CO2 emissions and lower electricity consumption within manufacturing processes.

Why do we focus specifically on this area?

  • Extraction technology is a non-productive piece of equipment; it does not add value to the product nor shorten production times. Nevertheless, it is an essential component of the production line to ensure a healthy working and living environment.
  • Central extraction systems are equipped with high-pressure fans designed to overcome all pressure losses within the ventilation system, such as those in extraction units, extraction ducting, the filtration media itself, and finally, the discharge elements (nozzles, piping, and textile sleeves).
  • In central extraction systems with standard fan pressures of 3500 Pa, the energy consumption is approximately 1.3 kW or more per 1000 m3/h of extracted and filtered air. This kW requirement can be broken down into: 10% for pressure loss in extraction units, 35% for extraction ducting, 30% for the filter, 20% for the discharge tract, and 5% for leaks in the central line.
  • A standard central system with a capacity of 100,000 m3/h has an installed power of approximately 130 to 150 kW. Extraction is often one of the largest consumers of electricity in a manufacturing plant, accounting for up to 20–35% of total electrical consumption.

  • Over 60% energy savings
  • Installation without extraction ducts
  • Versatile workspaces
  • Centralised dust collection in one location

Decentralised extraction for welding robots

Energy-efficient extraction solution with high versatility of workstations, 2000 m3/h = 1005 W

The system consists of local EcoAirCleaner filtration units and one Vacuum JET extraction unit. The local filtration units are positioned on the ceilings of the robotic cells, connected by short extraction pipes. Each local unit ensures the extraction and filtration of welding fumes directly from the respective welding robot cell. The air is filtered through a filter cartridge, where dust and aerosol impurities are separated. The filter cartridge is regenerated by compressed air via an automatic regeneration system based on the pressure drop across the cartridge. Dust accumulates in the filter bin and is periodically vacuumed into the extraction unit. The pre-filtered air is exhausted upwards from the welding cell into the hall space. Individual local filtration units communicate with a central high-vacuum filter via Modbus. A single high-vacuum central filter is capable of serving and centralising dust from up to 100 local filters.

Decentralised welding area filtration

Energy-efficient air purification solution for welding areas, 5000m3/h = 2034W

Unlike conventional local extraction solutions, where air is extracted above workstations in the overhead space and transported to a central filtration unit via long ductwork, our solution is simpler and more energy-efficient. EcoAirCleaner local filtration units are installed above individual work areas beneath the hall ceiling, providing direct air filtration right at the welding site. The production area remains unobstructed by complex ducting. Dust removal from the under-ceiling units is managed by a centralized high-pressure vacuum system, Vacuum JET. Filtered air is then released back into the hall space from the units. All decentralized filtration units communicate via ModBus and are controlled from a single central point. This proprietary system significantly reduces electricity costs. The system is easily expandable by adding more units and connecting them to the central waste collection.
